Who are we?

John and Jocelyn Powell live near the Hawkesbury River and seek to increase awareness, knowledge and appreciation of the values of the River and its surrounds. They give talks to local community groups and provide historical and environmental education tours for high school students and tourists.

They started their small publishing business as a way of making more historical and environmental material about the Hawkesbury available to everyone. Over the last few years they have published 26 books and have also assisted the local historical society with its publications.

Heritage Award

Deerubbin Press was a 2007 winner of Hornsby Shire Council's Heritage Awards for an outstanding contribution to the education and promotion of the Shire's heritage.
